Since Monday, we weren’t able to get much sunshine due to either cloudy or rainy forecasts. If we did get a bit of sunshine, me and Pixie just head out to the backyard to play ‘catch a ball’. Earlier, while playing, I accidentally hit her face but didn’t say anything and continued passing the ball to her. But she stopped and told me, ‘Mama, you got to say – ‘Sorry, Pixie!’. Oooops, so I sincerely replied, ‘Sorry, Pixie!’
That’s coming from my 3 years and 4 days old daughter folks….I couldn’t get any more proud that she’s learning naturally these really important life skills and in fact, she’s the one who’s teaching us more! Yes, it can get crazy and we all get some of her dramatic moods everyday too but she’s that best anchor to remind us how everyday is always an utter blessing.
Life wouldn’t be as much blessed and beyond crazy & happy without you, Pixie. We love you too much!
And this was how we celebrated Pixie’s 3rd birthday last Sunday — no kiddy party celebration or anything fancy but always full of love and smiles. We wanted to simply celebrate privately just the three of us like how we did in her 2nd birthday. and yeah, maybe imparting how to live a frugal life, too along the way. It does require conscious awareness so must start them young to value that having less can also mean more. I do believe too that “it’s not the amount of money you spend, but the experience you cultivate’. So if she ever asked us in the future what happened on her 3rd birthday, I’m sure she’ll be happy to know that it was the year we made a big move to Australia. That’s kind of already a big part of our lives to remember. Well, I do have a feeling the 4th birthday will be different when she might start to ask for a party already (not intending to deprive her at all of a party but i hope she’d prefer that we travel or go camping or go on a roadtrip than have a party at all) We did plan to head outdoors after we went to church but it rained so we had to postpone a beach trip or zoo trip next time.
Made her a breakfast french toast topped like a cake and whoala!
And yes, she sang ‘Happy Birthday, Pixie!’ to herself too! even until now whenever I show her these photos. 🙂
this is as real as it gets…no time to fix my hair …straight out of bed family photo 🙂
The only thing she wanted from the toy store… a $3 pink ball!!!
Definitely printing this photo of them two —-
all the grin before bedtime. 🙂
