This set of images have been lurking on my laptop since July and I should have posted them sooner —
I met the couple when I actually just reached out to Melissa from Ashdown & Bee to collaborate with some projects/shoots. Being new since I moved to Sydney, I’m more than happy to connect more to local creatives around, too and to keep my creativity going at the same time.
so we set out a date to do their engagement portraits one sunshiny winter day last July. I was so eager to bring them to the Wall’s Look Out in the Blue Mountains and when I asked them that we might do a bit of a hike, they were totally game for it. After postponing the shoot due to a previous bad weather (in fact a storm), we finally got lucky with a glorious sunset light towards the end. I was literally hyperventilating (i probably always do in every shoot) photographing these two while we took pleasure in the awe-inspiring views despite that winter cold.
I am ever so glad and grateful I got the chance to meet such creative couple like Simon & Melissa, whose hearts are as passionate as their souls. They were naturally beautiful to photograph, I could feel that warmth of love glowing from them (really!) and sweetly even finishing the same sentences together. That kind of love is truly just special!
And oh Blue Mountains, you’ve changed the way I look at life’s perspectives and you never cease to enthral me. I have to look for another word to replace “breathtaking” because I sure have overused it a lot!
