2016-03-16_0042At the time when I posted an announcement around November that I’m visiting Auckland for a few days, a message popped into my FB inbox coming from a name I didnt recognise (she purposely reversed it i couldn’t read properly). When I replied to her message first, it didn’t sink in right away who she was really until I clicked on her FB profile. Couldn’t believe who it was! So I had to ask, just to be sure, “Are you the same Fatima back home?” I gushed over the surprise that it was really her, after all the yearssss. This kind of incident made me appreciate the value of Facebook, don’t you think so, too?

Fatima is a childhood friend from the same town we grew up with but she’s way way younger than me to be specific..so yeah, I felt old old old. Haha. She lived next door to one of my bestfriends. I was in high school then and she was still in grade school. When I started college, I hardly see her in the neighbourhood or my memory has probably failed me. I have found out later she have moved out of our town to find work in Auckland, been happily married and now got 2 adorable kids.

It was exciting to finally get reunited when I arrived in Auckland, no matter how quick it was, we exchanged up stories and it brought a warm feeling in me closer to home. Calvin, her eldest boy, was so sweet and entertained Pixie while they played. Of course, I gladly took photos in between for her and her 2 sweet kids, sadly her husband was tied up with work I didn’t get the chance to meet him. Fatima happily showed me around her very lovely, serene and beach side neighborhood. Oh yes, beach side — I was incredibly jealous and also proud of where life has brought her now! Grateful for the time and having me photograph your little growing family, Fatima! See you again soon!

Here are some cute happy memories of that one fine day in Auckland…
