“Don’t Delay.” Somehow those two words sort of rang into my head early this morning.
Before that, I cooked a meal in the middle of the night and is about to eat it now for breakfast. It’s also being packed for my Brian’s lunchbox. He just told me he’s having a meeting again later for lunch. I frowned thinking ‘Whoat? So you’re not gonna eat what I’ve labored through the night that’s left me 4 hrs of sleep?’ He was joking. Good. π
I went off to the embassy yesterday to collect my passport which I submitted for extension 2 weeks ago. I should have picked it up a week ago. But I delayed. So anyway, it rained so I hopped into a cab. Few minutes later, I arrived at the embassy only to find out the gate was closed and though a few meters away, I can almost read the ‘We’re Closed’ sign. So I told the cab driver to wait while I went closer to read it. You guessed it. I thought, ‘Why didn’t anyone tell me?’ Why would I forget it’s November 1 and it’s a holiday?’ I could have banged my head on the gate but instead I went back laughin’ at myself inside the cab and told the driver, ‘I’m going shopping!’ Hahaha. No, I didn’t actually tell him. π
While too amused with my silliness, the cab driver and I got along talking about the future. And then, he said, ‘Don’t delay — have kids while you’re still young.’ π There he was, father of 3 kids and he seemed a good man while he told me more of life’s little instructions. One of my nicest cab experience. π
So when I woke up today, I remembered the cab driver’s words. It wasn’t just about having kids at all. The ‘Don’t Delay’ kinda fits as a good mantra for everything else. I’m sure there’s something you’re probably delaying too right now, huh? What is it? Why are you delaying?
Well, hello there November! Let’s not put more delay into our lives, shall we?
I didn’t put up those big crafted letters few weeks ago for nothing on our bedroom wall. And yes, that big world map greets me every waking moment. I don’t know about you, but the more I stare at it, the more I feel there’s a world out there meant to be experienced. So while I can, I’d love to not delay anymore. I also just read a great article shared through a friend’s Facebook wall the other day that was so timely with my raging thoughts too. π Indeed, “The world is a stunning place, full of outstanding works of art.Β SeeΒ it.” – Jeff Goins
And before I end this post, I happened to have stumbled upon an Instagrammer who posted a Christmas Card Exchange Project. How cool is that? I was hooked with the idea. If you remember I did a little Project Airmail Love last year too but it was for my birthday, this time I wanna do it again this year in spreading the Christmas spirit with a little extra love.Β The first 10 to leave me a comment will receive a little/pocket journal with a cover photo taken by me. π If you don’t make it within the 10, don’t worry, I’ll still exchange Christmas cards with yah! So don’t forget to send me a separate email at me@josephinesicadphotography.com for your mailing address with a title “Ho ho ho!” π I know it’s pretty simple gesture and it’s my way of getting connected to the rest of the world, too in spreading love so only if you’re interested, let’s get this rolling, shall we? π I’m setting a deadline until 11:59pm Nov 3, 2011 so there’s enough time for me to send and for the mail to arrive wherever you might be before Christmas! =)
Happy Wednesday!
