A very long post ahead. 🙂
Last week, my college friend Sheilan (whose maternity portraits I took in 2014) with her husband Arthur, who lives in Manila, travelled to Sydney for 4 days coming from their first stop in Melbourne. I wished I knew how to drive them around Sydney but since I couldn’t drive yet, we just agreed to meet up at convenient places. Surprisingly, Sheilan have decided to book themselves their own private guided tour by Andrew who owns Sydney Tour Guide and she invited me to come along with Pixie. Andrew was able to provide a child seat and considerate enough. He made sure everyone of us were comfortable and showed us around iconic locations and even off beaten paths in Sydney.
In return, I was more than lucky and grateful that we visited more places I haven’t seen yet around Sydney. And Pixie had so much fun exploring many mountain views, feeding Kangaroos and petting a Koala up close. It was sadly raining on the most part of the 1st day we had the tour so we had limited photos taken. But it didn’t dampen much our spirits because we had enough memories to miss together. I was sure exhausted sometimes carrying a heavy camera while holding on to Pixie and an umbrella at some point during the rain but all these were worth it! And I promised Sheilan, when she comes back next time, I’ll be her own personal driver and tour guide by then. Ha-ha! See you soon again!
1st Day Tour Photos…it started to drizzle but glad we were able to take a few fun snaps from the Macquarie’s Chair.
Queen’s Beach…a public isolated beach somewhere in the harbour with a great view of Sydney’s Opera house and Harbour bridge.
I forgot which look out was this..probably Dover heights? but this was another amazing view.I should have taken some notes somewhere next time I go on tour. This was probably in Dover Heights, too. Here’s another panoramic view of the city.
Quick stop overlooking Bondi. All the gloominess in the weather but still magical for me.
Across Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Despite the drizzling rain, we went ahead to visit the Australia Reptile Park. I wasn’t able to take photos with the Kangaroos from my camera but I had snaps taken from my phone of Pixie bravely feeding the kangaroo. And us up close with one cute sleeping Koala.
At the North Head lookout — views that make you drop on your knees! seriously! My little explorer …just having the time of her life, too.Day 2 — we didn’t go on a private tour but just walked around pretty creative corners and cobbled laneways, with all the European feel in the The Rocks and soak in the beauty of the harbour area again. It was first time for me to explore some areas around this part of the city, too.
Finally, one single photo of me. Just one. in.the.entire.time. i’m desperately in need of a new profile photo, please. Ha-ha. I know i know, messy hair, dont care!!! Thanks to Sheilan for taking this for me! 🙂Day 3– we were back on a private tour with Andrew again from Sydney Private Tourguide. We were joined with Sheilan’s cousin, Janice. This time, we headed to the Blue Mountains. Think rock formations and sandstone cliffs with superbly mountain views. We climbed hundreds of steps on some lookouts that made us all catch our breath but truly worth every endeavour to get there. I find it unbelievable that Pixie survived it all, too. So glad we decided to join this tour because it turned out as a really a great learning and priceless experience for Pixie too. Thank you again tita Sheilan and tito Arthur, it was like a 3-day-big-home-school field trip for Pixie! 🙂
They call them “Three Sisters”.
“Mama, I want to take picture of the waterfall.”
But of course, Pixie owns her own camera now. Something we bought for her few weeks ago so she can just enjoy taking photos of anything she fancies. She’s still learning how to frame her subjects. 🙂
Someone was never scared of the heights at all and kept saying, ‘I want to go down there, too!‘
We had our late late lunch at this really wonderful, old, vintage, organic resto. I feel like going back there now to indulge again on their super yummy menu!Sheilan missing her baby girl Scharlize who’s left in Manila, so skyping in the meantime while we were on the way back to the city.
And Pixie??? totally knocked out. Ha-ha.
And hope next time we visit these places again, Papa Brian can already join us.
